Aurora Wonder

Ohhh the first time I saw the Northern Lights...It was back in 2006,  in Iceland. At the time I had my Canon EOS 30, a film camera (a film category will be coming shortly too), and was amazed for the first time at the beautiful winter light that you get in the arctic. I was desperate to see the lights so we went on the hunt for them in the national park, but being super young and broke, we had come to winter Iceland with our London coats. Sure enough, she came out, and we were happy, the pictures of that never turned out very nice, but shortly after we were cold, it disappeared again, so we thought that was probably all.

We drove back to Reykjavik and sure enough, by the time we made it to town, a full blown aurora was over our heads. It took me quite a few years to make it back to the Lights, but two things I never did again: go wearing the wrong clothes, and go to bed when it first disappears again.

There have been many beliefs around the world about the Lights, but I will share only my favourite: the lights are the souls of the departed, coming to dance in the sky to tell you not to worry, that they are ok.
